I have been looking for ideas on how to teach my little kinder-darlings their lunch numbers next year. So far the only thing I have found is this...

 

Each child will have to punch in their numbers as they pick up their trays. As a kindergarten para-pro eight years ago, I remember this process being very time consuming. I'll make copies of this and send it home on the first day of school so they can practice at home. Does anyone have any lunchroom tips they can share that will make learning these numbers easier??

I can't wait to get started on my new room. There are so many things I want to try with decorating. LOL! I have a REAL bad case of wantitis! I want a tree made with brown paper and pool noodles. A white picket fence and grass (green carpet). I want to add lot of insects, snakes, flowers, plants, lizards, birds, bats, and even frogs...even though I can't stand them! I want Common Core center activities to use in the classroom and I have been looking everywhere for those. Pinterest is such a great resource for teachers! Now, I have a lot of cutting, pasting and laminating to do. WORK! WORK! WORK! even during the summer! Today IS the first day of summer vacation here in my neck of the woods and as you can tell, my mind is still firmly set in school mode and will be for a few more days, but it won't be for long because I'll soon be heading to Hawaii for two whole weeks! Fun! Fun! Fun! :-)   

Heading to Kindergarten!

I have been teaching 3rd grade for 7 years. Seven years of inclusion, the CRCT and lots of interventions. I am so ready for a change! I asked to be moved to a different grade level next year and come August, I'll be teaching kindergarten! I am so excited!

I'm going for a garden theme and I'm looking for ideas. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, Pinterest! I just got everything moved into my new room today.  It's a little bare right now, but I hope to start putting my room together as soon as the cleaning crew gets done with the floors. I'll share pictures as I go.
